How long does book design and typesetting take?

Cover design typically takes 1–2 weeks from brief to final files. Full interior typesetting and layout depends on manuscript length and complexity, but most projects are completed within 3–4 weeks. We'll give you a specific timeline once we've seen your manuscript.

Do you work with independent and self-published authors?

Yes — independent authors are a large part of what we do. You don't need to be signed with a publisher to get professional book design. We work directly with self-published authors from first draft through to print-ready and ebook files.

Can you help me publish through IngramSpark?

Yes. Silverbird Publishing Pty Ltd maintains an active IngramSpark account, so we're well positioned to manage print-on-demand title setup, metadata, and both ebook and print file preparation. If you'd prefer not to open your own IngramSpark account, we can upload and manage your title through the Silverbird account, including royalty handling.

What's included in ebook formatting?

We prepare properly formatted ebook files for the major platforms, ensuring your book displays correctly across devices and e-readers — covering layout, navigation, and technical formatting requirements specific to ebook conversion.

Do you offer editing and proofreading as well as design?

We can connect you with experienced, easy-to-work-with editors, proofreaders, and illustrators as part of the process, so your manuscript is in good shape before it goes to design.

Do you only design books, or other print materials too?

Book design is our focus, but we also create design solutions for businesses, government, and non-profit organisations — logos, corporate identity, brochures, banners, signage, posters, and reports.
